About Me:The main thrust of my work as a healing arts practitioner is well-being. Finding solutions to how we might better live our lives.
Drawn from the depths of personal experience, my approach is holistic and integrative and I specialize in the intersection of Western psychology and the Eastern liberatory and the shamanic traditions.
For over twenty-five years I have researched the mind body connection and, over the last twenty plus years, their interrelation with pure consciousness. Trained in depth psychology, with a Jungian-oriented approach, I work with clients to resolve mental, emotional, and physical blocks which obscure the ever-present alignment of the authentic Self.
At the basis of my psychophysical approach is the development of conscious receptivity of the present moment. Clients transform and heal by means of a multi-layered process which includes: in-depth attuning to their thought patterns and the energy in their nervous systems; meditative and/or contemplative practices; listening to their innate bodymind wisdom and learning to interpret the messages accurately, so authenticity and fulfillment are realized.
My approach is interculturally-informed, with an emphasis on decolonization of the global mindset. As an applied philosopher and cultural critic, my goal is to find solutions on how we might better live our lives.
Working with clients online as well as in person, my practice is international, spanning five continents. My client base is diverse; racially, socio-economically, and in sexual orientation. My practice also draws people from various professional backgrounds including activists, educators, ministers, Hollywood creatives, Broadway actors, musicians, sound engineers, accountants, lawyers, graphic designers, writers, yoga instructors, psychologists and healing artists.
I am the author of Consciousness in Jung and Patañjali (Routledge, 2018) as well as several published papers, including Jung, Yoga and Affective Neuroscience: Towards A Contemporary Science of the Sacred for Cosmos and History: the Journal of Natural and Social Philosophy and Depth Psychology Through the Lens of Classical Yoga: A Reconsideration of Jung’s Ontic Reality for the International Journal of Jungian Studies. My first book chapter, Clear or Distorted: Understanding Our Instruments of Perception and Their Interdependence with Pure Consciousness, was a contribution to Brain, Mind, Cosmos: The Nature of Our Existence and the Universe (Chopra, 2014), a compilation of papers by several scientists and philosophers in the field of consciousness studies including Stuart Hameroff, Menas Kafatos, and Deepak Chopra.
Since 2014, I have taught the yoga philosophy and psychology modules for accredited yoga teacher trainings in Southern California. Upcoming in Fall 2023 I will be co-facilitating a three-day writing workshop, Belonging: Embracing the Intricacy and Nuance of Our Personal and Collective Stories, hosted by the Jung Center of Houston.
Interviews about my work can be found on New Thinking Allowed, Buddha At the Gas Pump, and Shrink Rap Radio.
I hold two degrees, a Masters degree in Statistics from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, and a Doctorate in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara California. I live in Southern California with my 19-year-old son and our beloved canine, Korra.
Description of Services:Psychedelic Integration and Spiritual Guidance
With over twenty-five years researching the mind-body connection and, for almost twenty years, the interrelation of the mind-body connection with pure consciousness—I specialize in the intersection of Western psychology and Eastern liberatory and shamanic traditions.
It is my calling to work with individuals who are looking for guidance beyond traditional psychotherapy.
These in-depth soul sessions tend to spiritual experiences of all varieties, including those that have been deeply moving and, sometimes, alarming.
If you have experienced what is often referred to as a non-ordinary state of consciousness (whether spontaneously, through meditative practices or through use of psychedelics), I offer a safe space to process the breakthrough, containment for the sometimes overwhelming amount and nature of the phenomena, and tools to ground and gain perspective.
Designed to support your healing process mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually, the session lengths and frequencies are tailored to the individual.
Transformational Coaching
These are psychologically, emotionally, and physically complex times in which we are living. We have been thrust into a radically new era at lightning speed.
Underneath the anxiety, stress, and uncertainty that we face, there is something in all of us that is asking to be understood and healed. I seek to meet you where you are and assist you in resolving the pain and confusion, which blocks your sense of peace and authenticity.
Together we will find a place of equilibrium from which you can engage your inner and outer world in new and more effective ways. You can then make the changes you need to make in order to experience fulfillment.
I believe that deep within you, you already have the answers you seek. I work with you to transform and heal by means of listening to your innate bodymind wisdom, and learning to interpret the messages accurately, so you can joyfully follow your path in life—and orient yourself to a future we will all collectively build as we continue to integrate the events of the last couple years and more.
From the first session on, you will begin to: gain fresh perspectives; know and understand your deepest truth; improve communication; transform the patterns and conditions causing anxiety, fear, and disillusionment into peace, unconditional love and purpose.
