About the Retreat:The Ayahuasca Foundation was created in 2008 and is dedicated to the preservation and continuation of the ancient science of plant spirit medicine. Operating two centers outside of Iquitos, Peru, we work with one Shipibo family of curanderos in a unique and pure style centered around the use of ayahuasca and the bioluminescent tree, Noya Rao.
We offer dietas with Noya Rao, Bobinsana, Marusa, Chiric Sanango, and Chullachaqui during our eight week courses and Bobinsana during our four week courses. During our retreats and courses, in addition to the ayahuasca ceremonies, we offer treatments that include over a dozen other plant remedies and daily healing work. We also include integrative practices like yoga, meditation, breathwork, massage, and counseling.
It is our mission to protect the sacred tree of spiritual knowledge that has grown in the Amazon Rainforest for millenia, and replant the seeds of spiritual awareness so that new trees of forgotten wisdom will again grow throughout the world. All of our facilitators are apprentices in the rare familial tradition practiced at our centers.
Description of Services:We offer the following Ayahuasca Retreats:
10 Day Ayahuasca Retreat
NOURISH YOUR SOUL: Attend 5 ceremonies led by a true Shipibo curandero. Receive various additional plant treatments including plant baths, vapor baths, smoke baths, purgatives, inhalants, and other natural remedies. Complimentary practices on the retreat include massage, counseling, yoga, and meditation. Retreat participants can also go swimming, hiking, and fishing in the National Reserve.
18 Day Total Healing Retreat
COMPLETE HEALING: Participate in 9 ayahuasca ceremonies led by a Shipibo curandero. Receive a complete program of plant treatments including vapor and plant baths, deep internal body cleanses, blood purification, and consciousness enhancement. Extra offerings include yoga, massage, counseling, meditation, as well as swimming, hiking, fishing, star-gazing, and just relaxing in paradise.

4 week Empowerment Course
REVIVE YOUR HEALING POWER: Spend four weeks at the Riosbo Research Center and attend up to 12 ceremonies led by a Shipibo maestro and do a plant dieta with Bobinsana. Learn about the plant spirit healing tradition as well as modern methodologies and how to use them to activate and enhance your own healing power. Additional integrative practices help to guide your own personal process to achieve deep healing and fully empower yourself as a healer.
8 week Curandero Initiation Course
TRUE SHAMANIC TRAINING: Intended for people who want to study the authentic Shipibo tradition of healing with ayahuasca. Students spend eight weeks with the maestro don Enrique at the Inkan Kena plant medicine school, attend up to 24 ceremonies and diet noya rao and other powerful teacher plants in addition to learning icaros, ceremony techniques, and plant remedies. It’s a unique opportunity to study traditional curanderismo with an authentic indigenous maestro.

Overview of Experience:Once a participant registers for a program, a confirmation email is sent with helpful information about travel and preparation. Email communication is available at all times from then on.
About four weeks prior to the program, a private facebook group is created to facilitate communication between staff and all the members of the group.
About two weeks prior to the retreat, individual pre-program counseling sessions are offered with the director of the Ayahuasca Foundation, Carlos Tanner, to go over how to maximize the benefit of the program by addressing questions and concerns and finding the best preparation plan suited to each individual. This session is included in the cost of the program.
Our staff does everything we can to make the travel, arrival, and process throughout the program as comfortable and stress free as possible. It is our goal to provide each program participant with the optimal opportunity to focus on their intentions and healing process without having to worry about anything else.
After the program is complete, participants are encouraged to schedule a post-program counseling session with Carlos to find the best path forward to continuing the healing and expanding the benefits into more and more areas of each individual's particular lifestyle. This session is also included in the cost of the program.
Additional integration services are recommended either by continuing sessions with Carlos, or by using the resources provided to connect with other members of the Ayahuasca Foundation family who offer integration counseling services. These services are not included in the cost of the program.
Intake Process:All participants must fill out either an application or registration form, depending on the program, which includes forms regarding physical and mental health. A series of email communications follow up on registrations, and calls are requested for applications.

I travelled from the UK in July 2021 after my wife had an incredible experience in November 2020. She herself has always wanted to explore Ayahuasca and found the Ayahuasca Foundation with all their research was a fantastic place to go. I myself suffer from Depression and Anxiety and always been interested in alternative approaches as modern medicine only seemed to suppress the symptoms and therapy was limited longterm.
The Ayahuasca Foundation was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Carlos Tanner the organiser and founder of the retreat handled everything from initial contact, zoom call, communicating with the facilitators etc. I was well looked after and felt safe throughout the whole experience.
The set up is incredible, the facilities are brilliant, and staff are all you could wish for. Ayahuasca is not to be taken lightly, you need a safe and supportive set up to get the most from it and that’s what I found at the Ayahuasca Foundation. Highly recommended
